Kathmandu :- How can youth take responsibility for it’s own future? How can the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations help to shape their actions?
These are the guiding questions of the project YouMAKE.The project which started today in Dhulikhel brings together organizations from 5 different countries including Austria, Macedonia, Uzbekistan and Poland to develop a curriculum for youth workers. This curriculum can help facilitators to engage youth with the challenges of the 21st century and showing them a way to get engaged.
YouMAKE, which is funded by ERAMUS+ – a project fund of the European Union – is hosted by Career Disha Nepal. Career Disha Nepal as a social business is engaged to provide youth with better information as well as the soft-skills required to find a (professional) future in Nepal. We are thereby focused on the question of employment, while we acknowledge the interconnectedness of employment with many other issues mapped in the Sustainable Development Goals?
Till mid 2021 various instruments will be developed by the consortium and be translated in the five countries languages. Through a series of training programs and outreach activities in Nepal these material will be shared with trainers, facilitators and educators which can use it to integrate it in their training activities. We heartly invite interested parties to join us for the opening conference planned for 3rd of March at 2 pm in the premises of VHS Bhaktapur.
