BHAKTAPUR: SURUWAT a PLHA led Community based organization supported from AHF Grant Fund /AHF Fund successfully organized the National Conference on Income Generation to Support Individual PLHIV and NGOs working with Key Populations on September 18, 2018 in Bhaktapur, Nepal with four pointed declaration.
National Conference on Income Generation to Support Individual PLHIV and NGOs working with Key populations was organized by SURUWAT with the support of AHF NEPAL. This conference was to review IG support that has provided from AHF FUND to Individual PLHIV who have awarded some economic Assistance as seed to start their own Agro farming activities in their local territory to start income generation program Suruwat has delivered advance training on modern agriculture farming
PLHA from 12 districts has attended the National Conference and Eight NGOs who received AHF Grant Fund with the purpose of IG has attended the conference and presented the achievement and success of the project and PLHA individual has highlighted the need of self-sustained program as Agro Farming to creating enabling environment and strengthening the PLHIV and their family in Nepal. Conference was held under the valuable presence of chief guest Mr. Achut Sitaula President of NAP+N and Honorable Special guest Mr. Deepak Dhungel the Country Program Manager of AHF Nepal.

During conference Mr. Joey Terril, Director of Global advocacy and Community Partnership, AHF attended the conference through Skype audiovisual meeting Mr. Terril was optimistic for continuous support to PLHA and shared his experiences challenges and opportunities to sustain and living dignified with Virus.
We commit for our continuous advocacy and involvement to develop and adopt the economic and social development policies, including social protection strategies specially focusing on PLHA to break the intergeneration vicious cycle of HIV and Poverty.
We shall Increase support to improve and strengthen the community level PLHA support group to maximize the local resource mobilization and effective implementation of the IG programs and self-sustained financing intervention trough Agro Farming and IG.
We urge to create opportunities to PLHA according to their skill set by providing appropriate capacity enhancement and skill development interventions, and micro-financing for self-employment of PLHA.
Development of multi Sectorial approach to ensure the efficiency and sustainability of financial protection enhancing activities among the individual PLHIV and organization led by PLHA.
